Founded in 1975 as a subsidiary of Raychem until 1987 when Rayfast became an independent distributor. In 1994, Rayfast was acquired by the Diploma Group, which enabled the introduction and development of additional franchises, to widen and strengthen the product portfolio.

Rayfast has grown consistently over the years and is now a multi-million pound market leading organisation, supplying high performance and high quality interconnection products and services. During 1998 Rayfast entered the European market place, with its sister company Sommer Gmbh to provide a platform for a strong European presence. In the same year Rayfast was also appointed Master Distributor for Raychem.

Rayfast re-branded during 2001 and changed its name to IS-Rayfast to incorporate the wider range of products and services available. IS-Rayfast employ over 45 people at its Swindon headquarters dedicated to sales, distribution, technical support and customer service. In addition to an extensive standard stock profile available for same day shipment, IS-Rayfast also provides bespoke stocking packages tailored to meet specific market and individual customer requirements.
